From now, both individuals and sole entrepreneurs can set up an account at Nest Bank in Poland in 10 minutes – without unnecessary formalities, using a selfie as a form of verification. Nest Bank announces that this is just the beginning of revolutionary changes and the first step on the way to the most intuitive customer welcome process at the Bank.

The account with a selfie is another convenience from Nest Bank for those who prefer to complete banking formalities from the home couch. Regardless of whether the account is opened by an individual customer or a sole entrepreneur – everything is done via a smartphone. OCR technology (character recognition in a graphic file) also helps in the submission of the application. Thanks to it, the necessary data from the ID card is recognized. Part of the data is also downloaded from external databases, thanks to which they are substituted automatically. Therefore, the application time is much shorter and simpler.

How to open an account with a selfie at Nest Bank?

From now, to open this type of account at Nest Bank, all the customers need to do is:

    1. To download the Nest Bank app.
    2. To choose the type of account (business or personal).
    3. To take a photo of their ID cards.
    4. To record a selfie video (several gestures).
    5. To complete the missing data.
    6. To approve the application, and wait for confirmation and they are done!

The whole process takes about 10 minutes. The account created on a selfie is immediately fully functional. It works the same as the account created at a Bank branch and can be used right away.

The first step of a larger revolution

The account with a selfie is part of a larger revolution in Nest Bank’s online banking.

“The digital customer journey is one of our main projects. And an account opened with a selfie is the beginning of major changes in our banking. In the next step, we will simplify the application. We want to streamline the banking experience to minimize manual data entry. It should be intuitive, and fast, without unnecessary steps. We have developed the path of the first hundred days of the customer in the Bank, thanks to which we know what his/her expectations are. On their basis, we prepare all the functionalities that we will implement in stages. This cycle of changes leads us to one goal: the simplest welcome to the Bank and the most convenient banking experience,” – mentioned Łukasz Gajewski, Director of the Electronic Banking Department at Nest Bank.

It is also another Nest functionality implemented in a public cloud. Thanks to cloud using, banking solutions are created faster, cheaper, and even safer. Nest Bank announces that it will implement most of its projects in cloud technology in the coming years.
