Alior Bank in Poland has introduced the possibility of buying currency using the quick payment method – BLIK. BLIK allows customers to pay immediately online or on-site without the need of having a card or an online wallet; customers need to have access to the internet and mobile banking application to use this payment method. Thanks to this solution, instead of traditionally transferring money or topping it up with a payment card, customers can make payments for the purchase of currency using the BLIK code.
Alior Bank’s FX Exchange has been operating since 2012 and currently serves over 500,000 individual and business customers. Until now, buying currency in the FX Exchange application required making a traditional transfer to the currency account or topping it up with a credit or debit card. Now customers can purchase foreign currency using the BLIK code.
To use this option, when buying currency through FX Exchange, in the “Pay with” field, customers should select the “BLIK – payment from your Bank account” option. Then, they enter the BLIK code generated in the Bank’s application and confirm the operation, and the funds from the currency purchase will be in the customer`s currency account within a few seconds.
“BLIK is growing year by year, gaining a strong position in the cashless payment market. At the beginning of 2023, it was already used by over 13.5 million users. We completed nearly 14 million BLIK transactions in the second quarter. Compared to last year, this is an increase of 38%. We anticipate that the interest in this payment method will only grow, which is why we have decided to introduce the option of quick FX Exchange via BLIK.
