Don’t Give Cybercriminals a Second Chance: Campaign by ING Bank Poland

In its latest initiative, ING Bank Poland encourages entrepreneurs to collaborate to protect their business online. The campaign emphasizes the importance of reporting any cyber fraud attempts to CERT Polska, a division within the NASK (National Research Institute), and provides detailed guidance on how to do it effectively.

“While cybersecurity for individual customers is frequently highlighted in advertising and media, the issue is becoming increasingly critical for entrepreneurs. Last year, 66% of Polish companies experienced cyberattacks. This drove us to launch a campaign aimed at enhancing the security of businesses online,” stated Barbara Pasterczyk, Director of Marketing Communications at ING Bank Poland.

An ING study reveals that 90% of entrepreneurs have at least a basic understanding of security on the Internet. However, many of them admit that despite recognizing fraud attempts, they often take no further action. Only a small fraction of entrepreneurs report these incidents to CERT Polska, the team responsible for addressing online security threats.

“For many, blocking a cyberattack is a source of personal satisfaction. However, for cybercriminals, it is merely a failed attempt, and they will persist until they succeed. By actively reporting every cyber fraud attempt to CERT Polska, we can collectively enhance business security. Given the numerous responsibilities entrepreneurs face, we advocate for a solution that is both quick and straightforward,” added Barbara Pasterczyk.

The campaign was launched onTV, Internet, social media, customer communication

In the past year, CERT Polska has intercepted nearly 1.5 million fraudulent SMS messages and blocked 75 million attempts to access malicious websites listed on their Warning List. This proactive reporting has potentially prevented millions of financial losses.
