George is an online account for entrepreneurs by BCR in Romania, who would like to manage their finances quickly, conveniently, safely, and without leaving home.

Why should entrepreneurs use this service?

First of all, they have an opportunity to open the account 100% online, without uploading any documents, and when they access it through their smart banking application – George, and finally they receive the card at home. Secondly, customers don’t pay anything for George’s operations. Whether it’s online payments through George, cash receipts, or withdrawals, they have zero lei commission (if they have less than 12 months from the establishment, they benefit from free 1 year from the opening of the account). Thirdly, entrepreneurs also can save time, as well as money on their payments. They don’t have to waste time looking for a BCR unit or ATM: customers can make all payments by George or by card and their accounts cost less and less (they will get a 5% discount on the monthly cost of the account, if they make all bank transfers through George, without coming with payment orders at the counter, and another 10% if they use the card more to pay directly than to withdraw cash).

Furthermore, entrepreneurs could get special incentives when they choose BCR as a partner for their daily work. George simplifies customer`s financial operations and gives them the control they need, and the cost of their account is reduced (they will get a 10% discount on the monthly cost of the account if more than 75% of customer`s sales are received in the George online account for companies and another 15% if they choose to pay their employees in accounts opened with BCR).

BCR guarantee that in less than 30 minutes customers have an opportunity to open George’s current account for their business, 100% online. However, this service is available to those customers who are residents, associate holdings at least 75% of the shares in the company, legal representatives, and the only real beneficiaries.

What steps will business owners follow?

    • Firstly, entrepreneurs should validate their contact details, photograph their ID cards, and take a selfie.
    • Then bank employees will validate the information provided by a video call with a George specialist.
    • The next step is to provide some information to bank employees about customers’ companies (the companies must be active, registered with RECOM, and not have a current account with BCR).
    • Finally, entrepreneurs will be able to sign the contract electronically and receive it by e-mail, together with the login instructions.
