Until September 18th, registrations are open for the third edition of GreenFields Academy, a free educational program dedicated to Romanian farmers interested in acquiring knowledge to put into practice the principles of environmental conservation and biodiversity in agriculture.
The program is organized by the AMAZAG agricultural platform and supported by Raiffeisen Bank in Romania. This program is for those who want to implement innovative and sustainable farming techniques on their farms.
“We support programs that bring added value to Romania, and GreenFields Academy is such an initiative, especially in the context of climate change and the challenges faced by Romanian agriculture. For three years, GreenFields Academy has been offering Romanian farmers access to know-how, best practices, innovative technologies, and exchange of experiences with local and international professionals, contributing to the development of the agriculture of the future on sustainable principles,” – declares Raluca Nicolescu, SME Director at Raiffeisen Bank Romania.
The courses last six months and include seven theoretical online modules, linked with technical meetings.
Among the topics covered in GreenFields Academy are minimal tillage technologies, establishment and exploitation of vegetable carpets, carbon sequestration in the soil, circular agriculture, organic farming, machinery and equipment used for soil conservation technologies, digital and precision agriculture, and protecting biodiversity.

We have reached the third edition of GreenFields Academy, and this year, in addition to the theoretical and practical training sessions we have prepared for farmers, we aim to build a database of conservation farming practices to support farmers and the industry,” – declares Laurentiu Asimionesei, Representative at AMAZAG and Founder at GreenFields Academy.

Eligibility criteria:
- The program is aimed at field crop farmers;
- Farm area: minimum 100 ha;
- The farmer should have the availability to implement the practices learned during the courses on an area of at least 5 ha;
- Knowledge of the English language (intermediate level recommended).
The program is addressed to farmers from all areas of Romania, and at the end of the selection process, thirty of them will take part in GreenFields Academy.
