What is a carbon footprint, why, and how is it worth calculating for business owners? Karol Wójcicki, a science journalist and astronomy enthusiast, answers these questions in the thirteenth episode of the series about activities for the natural environment by ING Bank Poland.
The carbon footprint calculator for businesses on the Firmove.pl website enables comprehensive and free calculation of greenhouse gas emissions in scope 1 and 2 (under the GHG Protocol). Any business can use the tool – both sole entrepreneurs, SMEs, and large companies. The tool is free and available to every business, regardless of the business scale or industry.
Karol Wójcicki and his guests – Dr. Aleksandra Drewko from the Climate Strategies Poland Foundation and Rafał Smuga from ESG Innovation Expert Center – will show how to calculate the carbon footprint using a calculator.

Calculating the carbon footprint is the first step to implementing a strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Proper presentation of results converted into functional units (emissions per employee, m2, or unit of turnover value) allows business owners to plan and implement rational activities in their businesses.
The episodes about activities for the natural environment present selected initiatives undertaken by ING Bank Poland. To cooperate on the project, the Bank invited a well-known science journalist and astronomy enthusiast – Karol Wójcicki, who knows like no one else that we do not have a planet B. As the presenter, he explains how various activities can contribute to real changes and savings, both for us as well as the planet.
