ING Bank Poland has launched the fourth edition of the Grant Program addressed to startups and young scientists. The Bank will once again allocate PLN 1 million (approx. EUR 215,000) for the best solutions that will help ensure a healthy life for all ages. Applications can be submitted until October 16th, 2023.
“In the fourth edition, we discuss issues related to the third UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 3). We live in times of medical progress and improved sanitary conditions. Maintaining a balance of physical and mental activity is one of the important elements of health and affects our overall well-being and good relationships with the world. That’s why this time we are looking for solutions that will help take care of our healthy lives at all ages,” – said Joanna Erdman, Vice President of the Management Board at ING Bank Poland.
Caring for a healthy life manifests itself in many aspects. Prevention, diagnostics, new treatment methods taking into account technological progress, and the use of “smart devices” supporting health improvement are important. It is also about caring for mental health and its support.
The best solutions submitted to the competition will receive grants for further project development of PLN 400,000 (approx. EUR 85,500) for first place; For second place – PLN 300,000 (approx. EUR 70,000), and PLN 150,000 (approx. EUR 35,000) – for third place. It is also possible to award additional prizes worth PLN 150,000 (approx. EUR 35,000) in total, including the audience awards of the grand finale.
The best solutions will be selected by a jury composed of representatives of ING Bank Poland, business, science, and non-governmental organizations. The finalists will be announced on November 6th. The winners will be selected on December 6th during the final gala.

In addition to financial prizes, an additional value of participation in the Program is substantive support, promotion, and building partnerships. Finalists will be invited to participate in thematic workshops, e.g.: “Know your customer”, “Business models in practice”, “Experiments, or how do I know that my solution makes sense”, “Pitching, or how to present yourself well”. The winners will have the opportunity to establish contact with companies from the portfolio of ING Bank Poland. Individual mentoring is also provided for the best teams.
The three previous editions met with great interest. In total, nearly 450 startups and young scientists have registered so far. In the first edition, they presented solutions in the area of clean and accessible energy (SDG 7), which improved energy efficiency, increased the use of renewable energy sources, and helped in the fight against air pollution. The second edition of the Program was devoted to sustainable production and consumption (SDG 12). The Bank was looking for solutions that would ensure sustainable supply chains, reduce the level of waste generation, or help reduce the amount of food wasted, and the third edition was focused on clean water (SDG 6). Teams reported supporting the protection of water resources, efficient use of water, and improving its quality. The Bank has already donated PLN 3 million (approx. EUR 647,000) to support innovative ideas.
