Raiffeisen Bank in Romania supports the Romania ClimAccelerator program for the third consecutive year.

The Romania ClimAccelerator program opens its doors again this year to startups with innovative ideas and solutions from the greentech area, in two different stages of development, offering access to know-how, a network of consultants, mentors, investors, support in acceleration business as well as financing opportunities.

Romania ClimAccelerator is organized with the support of EIT Climate-KIC, the most important European initiative in the field of climate innovation, by Impact Hub Bucharest, with Raiffeisen Bank Romania and OMV Petrom as main partners this year.

Considering the objective of the European Union to achieve climate neutrality by 2050, Raiffeisen Bank Romania stands by the transition to a neutral economy and a sustainable community, also understanding the need to ensure a fast and efficient transition toward a sustainable economic model. At the same time, the Bank supports innovation as a catalyst in identifying sustainable solutions to climate change.

“There is a huge potential in Romania regarding the development of sustainable projects, because the local market is still in an early stage, learning how to integrate such projects into the economy. We have already started to change the way we use resources and implicitly the mindset of entrepreneurs in this direction. We actively contribute to shaping the entrepreneurial environment, and we are happy to be partners of the ClimAccelerator program for the third year, through which we support innovative startups that want to bring about a change in the way business is done in Romania,” – said Raluca Nicolescu, SME Director at Raiffeisen Bank Romania.

Romania ClimAccelerator is also a launch pad and growth platform for Romanian innovators, the accelerator addresses startups with tech solutions in areas such as cleantech, waste management, sustainable construction, carbon emissions management, sustainable production, renewable energy, transport, or recycling.

Through the benefits offered to participating startups, the European and national program partners, the structure of the accelerator, and the network of mentors involved, Romania ClimAccelerator is the most complex accelerator in Romania for startups in the greentech area.

“Based on the success of the first two editions of Black Sea ClimAccelerator, Romania ClimAccelerator is the natural evolution of the program, with an exclusive focus on the local ecosystem, based on the following pillars: awareness and inspiration, education and know-how, preparation of startups for financing and investment, scalability and subsequent support, creating an ecosystem of innovators, decision-makers and key players and generating long-term impact. We are happy to have with us, for the third edition in a row, strategic partners who understand the importance of supporting startups in Romania that, through innovation and technology, contribute concretely to the creation of a green, sustainable future,” – said Oana Craioveanu, Сo-founder of Impact Hub Bucharest.

Program Calendar

Early Stage startups, i.e. entrepreneurs and teams who just have an idea and are in the early stage, are invited to register here between May 23 and June 22. After applying, entrepreneurs will participate in a boot camp, after which 15 of them will be selected to participate in the program. For two months, they go through a complex acceleration experience that includes business modeling workshops, marketing, sales, financial management, business consulting and investment readiness, mentoring, sessions of pitching, and peer sharing.

Registrations for startups from the MVP category, those that already have a validated prototype on the market are open from May 23 to August 22. The 10 most promising and innovative startups will be selected at the end of August for participation in the program.

The 2023 edition of Romania ClimAccelerator ends in December, with the national Demo Day event, organized online & offline, in which the finalists from both categories will present their solution and the evolution of the program in front of investors, mentors, the press, and the public.

More details about registration and the program can be found here on the Romania ClimAccelerator page.
